Kaziranga National Park is situated  in the Golaghat and Nagaon districts of Assam. Kaziranga National park  is home to a wide range of wildlife species. This park was  established in 1905 as a forest reserve, later declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1950 and a national park in 1974. In 1985, it was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its unique ecosystem and wildlife conservation efforts. Two-thirds of the world's Great One-horned Rhinoceroses lives in this park. Kaziranga has the highest density of tigers among protected areas in the world, declared a Tiger Reserve in 2006. This National Park boasts of almost two thirds of world’s rhinoceros population and a diverse flora and fauna. 

Jeep Safari : The other way to explore the vast landscape and view exotic animals is the more common jeep safari. The jeeps cover the 4 zones of the park as mentioned above. The open jeep safari deep inside the thick forest is all that you need to get the adrenaline pumping. The Jeep Safari in Kaziranga takes around one and half hours of round trip that starts every day early in the morning and during the early afternoon. Before making entry to the park prior approval of the park authority is needed.

Elephant Ride: Elephant safari is certainly an exciting way to explore the wildlife of Kaziranga. Elephant safari offer an opportunity to view wild animals from close proximity. Starting early in the morning elephant safari includes the following ranges: Bagori or Western Range, Agoratoli or Eastern Range, Burapahar Range, Kohora or Central Range and Panbari Reserved Forest.

Birdwatching :Kaziranga National Park is home to variety of migratory birds, predators and water birds The best time for birdwatching in Kaziranga National Park is from November to April. During this period, many migratory birds visit the park, and the vegetation is less dense, making it easier to spot and identify birds. However, resident bird species can be seen throughout the year.

Kakochang Waterfall : At a distance 32 km from Kohora, Kakochang is a stunning waterfall situated near Bokakhat in Assam. It is one of the best waterfalls in Assam and among the best places to visit in Kaziranga National Park. Kakochang waterfall is also a well-known tourist attraction and a picnic spot near Kaziranga .

Explore tribal villages  : There are a  number of tribal villages near Kaziranga. Visiting these villages will give the tourists an insight into their culture, give you a glimpse of how people live there. and their practices of the tribal people.

 Visit the Orchid bio Diversity Park : The orchid park is home to several kinds of wild orchid species .You can spend a memorable evening in the Orchid Park watching the cultural program that is organized for the visitors. The  orchid park has an ethnic restaurant within its premises. You can enjoy the elaborate traditional platter served in this restaurant.
