1.Shillong

2.Cherrapunjee

 Cherrapunjee is a must-visit place of Meghalaya. Cherrapunjee is Famous for being the wettest place on earth. It receives the highest rainfall. Tourists come to visit Dain-Thlen, Kynrem, and Nohkalikai waterfalls etc in Cherrapunjee. There are also Living-Root Bridges, Mawmai Cave, seven sister's falls, an Eco-park, and a garden of caves.

3.Dawki

 Dawki is famous for its clean crystal clearDawki river. The Umngot River, also known as the Dawki River , flows through Dawki. The river marks the separation of the river Ri Pnar from Jaintia Hills and Hima Khyrim from Khasi Hills. It is arguably the cleanest river and is very popular among fisherman. If you are visiting Meghalaya then traveling to Dwaki should be on the itinerary.

4. Mawsynram

About 15km from Cherrapunji, Mawsynram is a beautiful village nestled in the slopes of East Khasi Hills.Mawsynram in the monsoon season is the perfect place to take in the beauty of nature. It is the most distinctive place in Meghalaya for it receives 11,872 millimeters of rain annually.

5.Tura

 Tura is the most beautiful place in Meghalaya which is blessed with serene beauty. It is located in Garo Hills, is a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers.

6.Mawlynnong village

The cleanest village in Asia deserves people to visit the place but maintain its beauty by following policies of eco-tourism. From beautiful waterfalls to root bridges and a clean environment, there is everything here that makes it spectacular.

The Living root bridges in Mawlynnong have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Hanging on a river, the bridges are made by connecting the aerial roots of one massive rubber tree with another.

7.Kran Suri waterfall

Krang Suri Falls is truly a view to behold. Krang Suri waterfalls is just 30 kilometres away from Jowai, the tranquil ambience of this place will make it hard for you to leave the place. The falls cuts one off the tourist circuit since it is a bit off the route. It is blessed with lush green forest hugging it and crystal blue waters gushing into the pool below. On a calm sunny afternoon, one can enjoy a dip in the pool as well.

8.Balpakram National Park

Nestled in the beautiful and green South Garo Hills, Balpakram National Park has an impressive area of 220 sq. km. If you wish to experience a rendezvous with Indian elephants, barking deer, red pandas, Bengal tigers, or wild water buffaloes at an elevation of more than 900m, this is the place to visit This park is not just ideal for hiking and trekking, but you will also get to admire thrilling views of deep canyons, cliffs and waterfalls.

 

9.Mawphlang

Around 45 km from Shillong, the Mawphlang Sacred Groves is situated in the East Khasi Hills. Once you reach the place, you can see rolling green plains, dense forests amidst the backdrop of blue skies. A sacred grove is a small forest area considered sacred by the Khasi tribe. The sacred grove usually has a number of medicinal plants and herbs and exotic plant species.
