How to Reach:
You can get a taxi from Shillong to Dawki. The most cost-effective way to reach Shnonpdeng is by hiring a vehicle from Shillong which is about 90 km.

One of the best offbeat places to explore in Meghalaya is the Mawlyngbna village in East Khasi Hills district. Mawlyngbna is one of the hidden gems of Shillong city. It is located at a 20kms distance from Mawsynram. From Shillong, it is just a mere 2 hours drive to Mawlynbana. The most suitable time to visit Mawlyngbna is during the months of November to April.

Mawjymbuin cave is located at Mawsynram. . Mawjymbuin is another offbeat places of The cave holds a natural rock which is in the form of Shiva Linga.A rock shaped structure arising from the earth, shaped like a shivalinga is the primary attraction of Mawjymbuin Cave and is highly revered by Hindus. It also has a thin stream flowing towards the eastern end of the cave. This rock formation resembles the same as the famous Amarnath except that this is only formed of rock and not ice.
How to reach
Mawjynbuin is situated at Mawsynram village,which is 70 kilometres away from the city of Shillong.You can book taxi from Shillong to reach Mawsynram.
6.Mawphanlur

Mawphanlur is a tiny beautiful village upon the lush green hills of Meghalaya. It is about 70kms from the main town of Shillong . It is a beautiful place to enjoy Kayaking,Boating,Star gazing,hiking etc.
How to reach
It can be reached by own vehicle as well as by public transport.If you start your journey from Guwahati you can hire a taxi from Guwahati and reach Mawphanlur via Shillong.
Nongkhnum

Nongkhnum is the largest river island in Meghalaya. Nongkhnum Island is located around 15 km from Nongstoin. The island has nothing but masses of green all around. There are many rare species of plants and insects that are found on Nongkhnum River Island. , Nongkhnum Island is surrounded by breathtaking waterfalls – the Weinia Falls, Thum Falls, and Langshiang Falls.
