Kamakhya temple is one of the best attraction of Guwahati,Assam.Kamakhya Temple is situated at the top of the Nilachal Hill at about 800 feet above the sea level. Kamakhya temple is one of the most revered sakti peeth among 51 saktipeeths of India.Apart from the main devi temple, it also comprises of some other major temples of devi Kali, Tara, Bagala, Bhuvanesvari, Bhairavi and Dhumavati etc.

By Air - The nearest airport is Guwahati airport , 14 km from the city center. International flights are available to Guwahati.You can simply hire a taxi from airporet and reach Kamakhya Temple.
By Rail:Guwahati railway station and Kamakhya railway station is the two nearest Rail station to reach Guwahati.After deboarding the station you can get direct taxi to Temple.

Durga Puja: Durga puja is one of the famous festival celebrated in Kamakhya in the month of September-October.
Manasha Puja: Maa Manasha Puja is an annual festival which the devotees of the Kamakhya Temple celebrate.
Ambubachi Mela: Ambubachi Mela occurs during the month of June for five days.The annual festival of Ambubachi Mela celebrates the menstruation of the Goddess The temple remains closed for three days when the Goddess menstruates. Thousands of devotees gather in the temple from the first day of the festival. On the fourth day, the temple reopens for worship.
The Kamakhya Temple is perhaps its most well-recognised landmark and a must added destination of every traveller’s itinerary.
