Day by day

1. Day 1Arrive Bangkok, transfer to Pattaya

   Met at Bangkok and driven down to Pattaya, with the evening left open.

2. Day 2Coral Island Tour

   Coral Island for the day, where the water turns properly turquoise, with watersports and a good deal of lying on the sand.

3. Day 3Pattaya to Bangkok

   Safari World or the Nong Nooch Tropical Garden — five hundred acres of sculpted gardens and orchid houses — on the way back up to Bangkok.

4. Day 4Bangkok City Tour

   The Grand Palace in gold and glass mosaic, Wat Pho with its forty-six-metre Reclining Buddha, and a floating market where the boats do the selling.

5. Day 5Fly to Phuket

   South to Phuket, and an evening on Patong, which is loud and makes no apology for it.

6. Day 6Phi Phi Islands Cruise

   A full day cruising the Phi Phi Islands — limestone cliffs coming straight out of green water, hidden bays, and snorkelling stops wherever the water invites it.

7. Day 7Departure

   Transfer to Phuket airport for departure.
