Day by day

  1. Day 1NJP/Bagdogra to Gangtok

    Met at NJP or Bagdogra and driven up to Gangtok along the Teesta, the road climbing all the way. Sikkim introduces itself before you have arrived.

  2. Day 2Gangtok Local & Tsomgo Lake

    MG Road in the morning — no cars, no litter, the whole town walking it — then up to Tsomgo, a glacial lake in a high bowl that freezes solid in winter, and Baba Mandir past it. Permit required, and subject to weather and the road.

  3. Day 3Gangtok to Pelling

    West to Pelling by way of Namchi, with Char Dham on the way — a hilltop complex of replica shrines under an enormous seated Shiva.

  4. Day 4Pelling Sightseeing

    Pemayangtse, one of the oldest monasteries in Sikkim, with Kanchenjunga behind it on a clear morning. Khecheopalri, the wishing lake, kept so clean that not a leaf is left floating. And Rimbi Falls to finish.

  5. Day 5Pelling to NJP/Bagdogra, Departure

    The return drive to NJP or Bagdogra for onward departure.
