Day by day

  1. Day 1Arrival - Kamakhya - City Tour

    Kamakhya first, high on Nilachal Hill above the city — one of the oldest and most visited shrines in the country, thick with red hibiscus, incense and pilgrims. Then the Assam State Museum and the Zoo cum Botanical Garden, and a cruise on the Brahmaputra as the light goes soft and the far bank turns to a low dark line. Overnight in Guwahati.

  2. Day 2Umananda Island - Departure

    The morning ferry out to Umananda, a temple on the smallest inhabited river island there is, with the current moving fast on both sides. Then on to the airport or station for onward travel.
