Day by day
Day 1Guwahati - Jorhat
Drive to Jorhat and check into a heritage tea estate bungalow — high ceilings, deep verandas, lawns that have been cut the same way for a century. Tea tasting in the evening, which teaches you more in an hour than reading ever would. Overnight in Jorhat.
Day 2Tea Estate Exploration
A guided walk out through the gardens in the morning, when the bushes are still wet and the pluckers are already working the rows. Then the factory, where the leaf is withered, rolled, oxidised and fired into something you would recognise — and time with the people who do it. Overnight in Jorhat.
Day 3Local Culture & Leisure
Cinnamara or Thengal Manor for the heritage of it, then nothing at all back at the estate. A long chair, a veranda, a pot of tea grown within sight of where you are sitting. Overnight in Jorhat.
Day 4Departure
Breakfast on the veranda, then the drive back to Guwahati for onward travel.
