Jumbo Safari Tours & Travels is a travel service based in Guwahati, Assam, running organised tours and vehicle rentals across Northeast India. Since we started we have worked to make travel here feel straightforward — whether that is the hills of Meghalaya, a circuit through Arunachal Pradesh, or a custom route built around your dates.

Every Jumbo Safari itinerary is built in Guwahati by people who have done the trip themselves — stayed in the homestays, eaten at the dhabas, argued with the weather at Sela Pass. When you book with us, the plan, the vehicle, and the driver all come from one place. Nothing is outsourced, so nothing gets lost between hands.

That matters more here than it does elsewhere. The Northeast is not a place you can run from a call centre in another state. Roads close without notice. Permits change. A pass that was open on Tuesday is under snow by Thursday. The people who answer your messages are the same people who know which alternative road is passable this week, because they have a driver on it.

We own our vehicles rather than sourcing them, and we employ our drivers rather than subcontracting. It costs more to run that way. It also means that when something goes wrong at nine at night in a valley with one bar of signal, the person you reach can actually fix it.
